I’m Julie Kelton. I’ve been working with the tarot since acquiring my first deck 25-ish years ago. For me, the cards are always supportive, guiding us to relate to ourselves and our world with greater creativity and care. More recently, I’ve begun a relationship with astrology, which I practice through an experiential, embodied lens.

As a reader, I focus on how the tools of tarot and astrology can deepen our relationship to our present moment and all it contains for us. These modalities can shift our perspectives, nourish our being, and open us to what is here – and what is possible. I do not make predictions for you, I bridge your connection to these tools so you can receive their guidance, affirmed by your own knowing.

In addition to my work as a reader, I’m currently pursuing my Master’s in Social Work (MSW) with a focus on trauma-informed care and human rights from the University at Buffalo SUNY (class of 2026).

If you don’t yet have one, I hope working with me empowers you to build your own, lifelong relationship to these funny, wise, potent cards.

hello,

more about my approach

The future is unwritten. When we use tarot and astrology to try to foresee what is going to happen to us, we miss out on the deep wisdom of the present moment and the agency it offers to us. To me, tarot and astrology are co-creative tools, most potent and powerful in guiding us to remember who we are and how to find our flow with this enchanted world which blesses us so. It is deeply human to turn to these tools for a sense of greater control, and I think they often, and with great humor, subvert that desire within us.

Astrology and tarot are meaning-making modalities, creative collaborators, and magical guides. I’m endlessly amazed at how they contextualize the patterns and cycles of our lives and invite us into deeper relationship with them through collective, ancient wisdom and archetypes.

There are scary-looking tarot cards in the deck and dreadful patterns in the cosmos, yes. And I reject the good/bad binary in tarot-astrology and in life. I believe all cards and all transits carry healing promise and liberatory potential. I invite you to come with an open heart and mind, and together, we will wander through the less-explored corners of the present with the cards and stars as our guides.

ways to work with me

I offer one-on-one readings with tarot and/or astrology, and also offer reading-lessons for tarot, if you want guidance on expanding your own card practice. I love teaching and offer introductory and intermediate workshops.

I am currently at work bridging these tools with horse wisdom in collaboration with Inner Freedom, and am very open to other creative partnerships.

I am occasionally available for private group readings, please reach out to inquire.

what to expect

You can come with a specific question or concern, or let the cards / chart lead our exploration. I root my work in a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive approach. You are the expert of your life, and in charge of what you share with me.

Most of all, I invite you to show up with an open heart and mind. These tools require a willingness to look inwards, contemplate your life, and modify your perspectives. The ability to hold paradox and complexity is a plus. If you want a preview of how I read, I invite you to listen to my Slow Tarot offerings.

my teachers

I am self-taught in tarot with years of practice and the books of Rachel Pollack, Mary K Greer, and many others that have helped to build my mystical library, which is core to my practice.

My astrology journey also began in books, my favorite authors are Liz Greene, Melanie Reinhart, and Howard Sasaportas.

Astrology teachers I am now learning with / have learned directly from include Blair Bogin, Gray Crawford, Jason Holley, and Britten LaRue.
