the call of capricorn season
Winter naturally brings constraint, teaching us how to ration and stretch our resources. The symbol of Capricorn, the sign that brings winter to the northern hemisphere, is the sea goat, a mythical creature. A goat subsists in the terrain of constraint, on hardscrabble cliff sides and mountain tops. And what about the sea goat? In the tarot, water often symbolizes the entry to our inner depths. Aligned to the dark days of winter this side of the Earth, the sea goat becomes our guide to surviving the cold darkness by finding sustenance in the depths of our interiority.

Download my (free) Tarot mini-workbooks
These workbooks were created for the Circling Center retreat series of 2023. I had so much fun making them, and think they are useful tools for building your own relational Tarot practice. The first booklet contains four invitations that I consider to be the scaffolding of my approach to Tarot. The second one digs into the archetypes of the Fool, Magician, and High Priestess from this perspective.

Announcing Circling Center: A Retreat Series Unveiling the Guidance of Tarot and Horses
Circling Center will unveil the guidance of tarot and horses through two weekend-long programs at Inner Freedom’s beautiful barn and pasture in Buchanan, Michigan. The first weekend (June 15-16), Grounding into What Is, offers four elemental invitations for building a practice of self knowing and re-centering, using the cards and horses as our guides into this work.
